The PROFFORMANCE project has won the EURASHE 2023 PHE Star Award for Digitalization at the annual conference of the European organisation in Bucharest.

EURASHE (European Association of Institutions in Higher Education) is a European umbrella organisation of more than 600 higher education institutions and associations. It offers them professional training and programmes and represents the sector on policy issues at the EU level. It is also one of the non-governmental partners in the Bologna Process, which is contributing to the development of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), and the leading European representative of Professional Higher Education (PHE).

This year, it held its 32nd annual conference in Bucharest entitled Skills for Europe - Mobilising Higher Education for the green and digital transitions. The PROFFORMANCE project was presented at the conference by Jan Beseda (Centre for Higher Education Studies, Czech Republic), one of the project experts, and won the EURASHE 2023 PHE Star Award for Digitalization.

In the PROFFORMANCE project, a consortium of 6 countries, with the involvement of several experts, has developed the PROFFORMANCE Assessment Tool, which is currently being further developed in the PROFFORMANCE Plus project with 5 countries and an updated expert team. The three-dimensional Assessment Tool offers a complex and comprehensive system for assessing the roles, responsibilities and competencies of teachers in higher education, in particular with regard to the priorities of the EHEA (digitalisation, inclusion, internationalisation, sustainability), from the perspective of the teacher, his/her peers and students.

In the justification for the award, the evaluation tool was mentioned as a navigator of the teaching competencies needed to prepare students for future jobs.

To thank the entire PROFFORMACE partnership for the award, here are the words of Jan Beseda:
