|1. Panel Discussion on acquisition of title, valuation, management and utilization of IP by universities in the Visegrád Group

The panel’s goal is to identify good examples, best practices as well as challenges while discussing the legislation specifics of the acquisition of title, valuation, management and utilization of IP by universities in the V4 countries and to come up with suggestions on how to create a more supportive ecosystem that can strengthen the university’s role in the creation and management of intellectual property. The discussion will be followed by Q&A.
a) regulation of acquisition of title to IP (IP or copyright coming from own basic or other research or innovation in the university, or IP coming from joint R&D projects of university – businesses),
b) management and utilization of own IP internally, or via IP management company of the university,
c) valuation of IP for utilization,
d) best practices.

The session also focuses on modern city developments – and presents some best practices in smart city innovation projects. The discussion will be followed by Q&A.
